Accounts Technician

A growing, dynamic accountancy practice is looking to bring on an Accounts Technician to support their General Practice department. This role offers exposure to both accounts and tax work, as well as opportunities to gain experience in audit assignments. You'll be joining a friendly, multidisciplinary team where staff retention and personal development are key priorities. As you progress, there will be opportunities to take on more responsibility and explore specialist roles across the firm.
Role Responsibilities
- Preparing financial statements for companies, sole traders and partnerships.
- Preparing management accounts, projections and forecasts.
- Gaining exposure to statutory audits and assisting on external audit assignments.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns.
- Preparing personal tax returns, including property and capital gains.
- Preparing VAT returns and liaising with HMRC.
- Building strong client relationships and providing excellent service.
- Using integrated CCH software and cloud-based systems (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Undertaking training and development.
Personal Requirements
- AAT part-qualified or qualified by experience with prior practice experience.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Enthusiastic, motivated and eager to develop across accounts, tax and audit.
- Flexible approach to occasional travel between offices.
- A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development, with study support available if required.
