Are you a skilled payroll professional looking to take your career to the next level? Butler Rose, is delighted to bring you this exciting opportunity to join a leading employer in Plymouth as a Payroll Specialist.

The Role
As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely payroll services for a workforce of approximately 2,500 weekly and salaried employees. Reporting to the Head of Compensation & Reward, you will ensure compliance with payroll processes, statutory reporting, and benefits administration. You will also support continuous improvements within the department and assist in driving efficiency.

Key responsibilities include:

Managing payroll processes for starters, leavers, and existing employees.Liaising with external stakeholders, such as HMRC, legal teams, and unions.Administering benefit-in-kind schemes, salary sacrifice, and pension contributions.Generating detailed payroll reports and supporting audit activities.Driving process enhancements and leading payroll-related projects.

This role offers an opportunity to work closely with a collaborative team in a dynamic environment where you will be an ambassador for operational excellence.

About You
The ideal candidate will have:

Payroll qualifications (desirable but not essential).Experience in a manufacturing environment (advantageous).Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Strong IT skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.A proactive and efficient approach to managing tasks.
