Key responsibilitiesProduce monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgetsTake ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow reportingDeliver weekly and monthly financial performance reportingManage budgeting and track spend across departmentsProvide analysis on profitability, costs, and performanceMonitor cashflow, working capital, debtors, and creditorsImprove financial controls and reporting processesSupport audit, VAT, payroll, and compliance requirementsWork closely with operations, sales, and procurement teamsSupport ERP / system improvements and reporting accuracyMentor and support junior finance team members About youQualified (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or qualified by experiencePrevious experience as a Financial Controller or Senior Finance ManagerStrong background in manufacturing, engineering, or a similar environmentConfident with budgeting, forecasting, and commercial analysisStrong Excel and financial systems skills (ERP experience preferred)Hands-on, detail-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced settingGood communicator, able to work with non-finance stakeholdersCommercially aware and proactive in improving performance

Hours: 9:00-5:00 (flexible start times available)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

We are working with a growing development business of around 20 people, offering an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a varied, hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Due to the nature of the business, this is not a standard month-end driven role. Funding is received at different times, creating a dynamic workflow that will suit someone adaptable, organised, and comfortable managing changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities

* Bank reconciliations
* Assist with the preparation of management accounts
* Purchase Ledger processing
* Raising and managing sales invoices
* General support to the Finance Director as required

About You

* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or equivalent) or QBE
* Proven experience in a similar accounting role
* Flexible, adaptable, and able to prioritise effectively
* Self-sufficient and comfortable working independently
* Not easily phased - you enjoy variety and change
* Happy to work in a small, growing business environment

You will report directly to the Finance Director and play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business.
