Location: Wellington, Somerset (hybrid working available)
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience and study support)
Type: Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)
About the Role
We are looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join a friendly, high-performing finance team supporting a company that's part of a respected global group. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is part-qualified, or already has solid accounting experience, and who wants a role with real variety and technical scope.
You will be working closely with the Financial Controller, helping to ensure all financial tasks are covered accurately and efficiently across the team. While the core responsibilities are defined, there is flexibility to shape the role in line with your interests and strengths once you start. We need someone who can hit the ground running, work independently, and contribute to process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Support annual audits as well as statutory accounts preparation and liaise with external auditorsHandle VAT returns, other tax compliance and reportingPerform journal entries, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close activitiesAssist in management reporting & financial analysisOversee transactional finance work: accounts payable, expenses, bank postings, and inventory reviewsHelp develop and improve finance systems, processes, controls
About You
Part qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or strong track record in a financial accounting roleAt least 2 years' relevant accounting experience preferredAble to reliably commute to the officeComfortable working independently; reliable and proactiveGood Excel & accounting system skills

We are exclusively working with a dynamic international business operating across global markets to recruit an experienced Credit Controller. This role is fully office-based so you must be able to reliably commute to their offices in West Somerset.
Key Responsibilities:
Chase overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence.Maintain accurate records of communication and payment arrangements.Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts accurately.Reconcile accounts and resolve customer queries promptly and professionally.Monitor aged debt reports and escalate high-risk accounts.Assist with month-end reporting and cashflow forecasting.Support the wider finance team with ad hoc administrative tasks.
Skills & Experience:
At least three years' credit control experience, ideally within FMCG.AAT Level 3 or equivalent professional qualification (desirable).Strong knowledge of multi-currency export environments.Proven track record of hitting collection KPIs.Confident negotiator with strong communication skills.
In exchange for this Credit Controller role, you will receive an enhanced pension scheme and work a 35-hour working week.
