A Top 10 accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Audit Associate to join its Norwich team. This is an excellent opportunity for an audit professional to take greater ownership of smaller assignments while supporting senior team members on larger and more complex audits. The role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio, opportunities to develop client relationships and the chance to further develop your technical and commercial audit experience within a supportive team environment.

Role Responsibilities

Complete audit fieldwork, including planned substantive and analytical audit procedures, both in the office and at client premises where required.Take responsibility for delivering individual sections of audit assignments under appropriate senior supervision.Plan and complete audit assignments, ensuring files contain appropriate and sufficient documentation.Take ownership of smaller audit assignments with support from a manager.Support Seniors and Assistant Managers on larger and more complex assignments.Prepare statutory financial statements from client data.Identify and highlight high-level risks and matters of concern to the Partner or Manager.Complete more complex audit testing across areas including investments and related parties.Apply relevant audit assertions, testing procedures and accounting principles.Work towards the successful delivery of audit assignments within agreed revenue and profitability targets.Develop and maintain strong client relationships.Participate in local networking and business development activities.Provide coaching and support to junior members of the team.

Personal Requirements

ACA, ACCA or AAT part-qualified, or qualified by experience.Minimum of two years' experience working in an audit environment within a UK accountancy practice.Experience auditing clients across a variety of industries.Working knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP and Auditing Standards.Good understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, audit testing assertions and standard audit procedures.Experience completing more complex audit testing with appropriate supervision.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage audit assignments effectively.Good communication and client relationship management skills.Ability to work independently while knowing when to seek appropriate support.Experience coaching or mentoring junior team members.
