Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting one of our Top-Ranking clients based in Wolverhampton. As a Private Client Tax Senior, you will begin to take ownership of your own portfolio with support from your manager and support in delivering revenue and profitability targets.

Role Requirements:

Responsible for a number of client relationships, including non-residents, non-domiciled individuals, high net worth individuals and trusts, supporting them on a variety of compliance matters.Principal point of contact for clients, working closely with them to understand developments in their personal tax affairs, ensuring they are up to date with their compliance obligations and legislative changes, helping them assess the impact for them and keeping abreast of new opportunities.Manage variety of compliance matters.Ensure clients are up to date with their compliance obligations and legislative changes, helping them assess the impact for them and keeping abreast of new opportunities.Review tax returns and computations.Ensure the efficient and risk managed delivery.Responsible for complying with all internal risk management procedures.

Personal Requirements -

Potentially ATT qualified and now actively studying towards your CTA.We will provide you full study support including paid study leave, mentorship and coaching.Previous Personal/Private Client/Mixed Tax experience in a similar role within a practice environment is essential.

Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be partnering with a highly regarded Top 40 firm of Chartered Accountants in Central London, who are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join their expanding Private Client team.

This is a mixed compliance and advisory role with significant exposure to non-UK domiciled clients, high-net-worth individuals, and complex offshore structures. The position will involve managing your own client portfolio, supporting several Partners on bespoke advisory assignments, and taking an active role in the management and development of more junior team members.

The Role -
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services to a wide range of private clients. You will play a key part in advising on UK and international tax matters, including residence, domicile, and inheritance tax planning.

Role Requirements -
Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, including non-doms, HNWIs, sole traders, partnerships, and offshore trusts.
Support Partners in delivering high-level advisory work such as IHT and UK trust planning, residence and pre-arrival advice, and structuring of offshore trusts and companies.
Advise clients on the forthcoming changes to non-dom rules effective April 2025, assisting with pre-emptive planning.
Prepare reports and attend meetings with existing and prospective clients, setting budgets, and ensuring delivery within agreed timeframes.
Liaise directly with clients, HMRC, and other professional advisers on a wide range of tax matters, including inheritance tax, income tax, capital gains tax, and HMRC enquiries.
Review tax returns prepared by junior staff and ensure timely electronic filing.
Manage staff performance, provide technical support and mentoring, and participate in departmental management meetings.
Oversee billing, WIP management, and ensure accurate time recording.
Represent the firm at networking and business development events and contribute to internal publications and technical updates.

Person Requirements -
You will be an accomplished private client tax professional with solid experience handling complex personal tax cases, particularly involving non-UK domiciliaries and offshore structures.
CTA qualified (essential) with at least 5 years' private client tax experience, ideally gained within a mid-tier or Top 50 firm.
Strong technical expertise in non-dom and offshore taxation, with up-to-date knowledge of current legislation.
Proven client-facing experience with the ability to communicate confidently and clearly at all levels.
Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and familiarity with CCH and SharePoint.
People management experience and a collaborative leadership style.
A commercial mindset with a focus on delivering high standards of client service.

Role Responsibilities

Provide expert technical advice and hands-on support to private clients across all areas of personal tax.Oversee the preparation and review of self-assessment tax returns completed by junior staff.Mentor and guide junior team members, supporting their professional development.Assist in the growth and development of the client base through business development activities.Ensure compliance with deadlines while maintaining high standards of service and accuracy.Contribute technical knowledge across the wider firm when needed.

Personal Requirements

Role Requirements -
The firm is eager to appoint an individual to manage a varied personal client tax portfolio dealing with all routine personal tax compliance and ad hoc advisory work.
Managing all day-to-day requirements for a Private Client portfolio, comprising of a mix of clients such as HNWIs and partnerships with varied sources of income e.g., earned and investment income.
Dealing with a range of capital gains tax issues.
Assisting with or dealing with the delivery of technical advisory work on the portfolio to include one off advisory and compliance assignments.
Attending client meetings as required as well as fee proposing and raising client bills and regularly reviewing WIP.

Person Requirements -
ATT qualified and/or currently studying towards the CTA with at least 3 years' private/personal tax experience working for a reputable UK based firm.
Proven experience of effectively managing a portfolio of private clients (HNWIs, non-domiciles, property owners, OMBs, partnerships)
Strong tax compliance experience and ideally some advisory exposure
Excellent communication skills and well accustomed in liaising with the HMRC on behalf of clients.
