Finance Manager (Interim Contract)

Location: Flexible, with attendance required in Northampton approximately 2-3 days per month
Contract Length: Until 31 March 2027
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £500 per day (Outside IR35)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday

Butler Rose is delighted to be working with a leading organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of travel, expense, and entertainment governance across a large organisation. This is a key role focused on ensuring compliance, driving cost efficiencies, enhancing policies, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will help optimise travel and expense processes, strengthen financial controls, and provide valuable management insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Manage corporate travel approvals and ensure policy compliance.
Review and approve employee expense claims.
Maintain and improve travel, expense, and entertainment policies.
Drive cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
Monitor compliance and provide guidance to employees and managers.
Manage supplier and travel management company relationships.
Collaborate with IT teams to enhance travel and expense systems.
Produce management reporting and business insights.
Support cross-functional projects across travel, expenses, procurement, and cost control.

Ideal Candidate
You will have experience managing travel and expense processes, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven ability to deliver process improvements and cost-saving initiatives. You should be comfortable working across multiple functions, analysing data, and providing meaningful reporting to support organisational objectives.

Lead projects focused on improving systems, processes and operational efficiency.Identify opportunities to use AI and automation across finance and compliance.Manage system implementation projects, including planning, testing and rollout.Work with software providers and internal stakeholders to deliver technology improvements.Act as an internal champion for AI, supporting colleagues with the adoption of new technology and processes.Support the preparation and review of management accounts, VAT returns, year-end accounts and audit information.Assist with investment and wealth reporting, including investment performance, revaluations and reconciliations.Prepare loan schedules, asset statements and supporting financial information.Maintain accurate investment and financial databases and associated records.Support company secretarial and corporate governance requirements, including statutory filings and maintaining corporate records.Provide finance and compliance support across a portfolio of entities and investments.Contribute to ongoing process improvement and operational development across the organisation.About You

We're looking for a qualified accountant with at least three years' relevant experience who is looking for a role offering more variety and responsibility than a traditional accounting position.

You'll ideally have:
