They've got a great opportunity for an Assistant Tax Manager to join their team. You will work closely with the Directors and collaborate with the international offices, gaining exposure to interesting and complex tax matters. This role is designed as a step towards Manager level, offering the right candidate the opportunity to build confidence, develop technical depth, and take on increasing responsibility

Role Requirements-

Manage a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for their UK tax compliance with support from senior team members.Prepare and begin reviewing UK tax returns, developing confidence in identifying issues and ensuring accuracy.Support the review process by assisting Managers and Directors on more complex returns.Assist in overseeing and supporting junior staff, including reviewing straightforward work and helping monitor deadlines.Begin to take a more active role in managing workflow and prioritising jobs across your portfolio.Prepare advisory work for individuals and assist on more complex planning projects.Develop confidence in dealing with client queries and gradually take a more front-facing role.Work with internal teams and support coordination with international offices where required.Identify technical issues and carry out research with support, building towards more independent judgement.Contribute to team development and participate in internal training.

Person Responsibilities -

Strong experience in personal tax, with good exposure to compliance and some review experience.CTA qualified (or close to completion) - Ideal but not essential.Developing experience in reviewing work and supporting junior staff.Increasing confidence working autonomously, with appropriate escalation.Exposure to double tax treaties, residency issues, and international tax matters is desirable.Exposure to US tax or internationally mobile clients is advantageous.Developing client-facing skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines.High attention to detail and commitment to quality.Proactive mindset with ambition to progress to Manager level.

Role Requirement-

Managing a portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders and partnership.Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and FRS 102/FRS 105.Reviewing bookkeeping and management accounts prepared by junior team members.Supporting the day-to-day supervision, coaching and development of Junior Accountants, Apprentices and other members of the team.Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong and trusted relationships.Providing business advisory support, identifying opportunities to add value.Ensuring assignments are completed within agreed budgets and deadlines.Working closely with the Accounting Services Manager and Partners to support the planning and allocation of work, resource management and the continued development of the department.Contributing to process improvements and maintaining high technical standards across the team.Assisting in special projects and initiatives as needed.

Personal Requirements:

ACA/ACCA qualified. A minimum of 5-8 years' experience.Previous experience within an accountancy practice at Senior Accountant level or equivalent.Experience managing a portfolio of clients.Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards.Experience reviewing technical work and supervising junior staff.Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Excellent customer service and the ability to build rapport and manage client relationships.Proficient in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.Experience in the medical sector would be advantageous.
