Location: Ulverston, Cumbria

Butler Rose Procurement & Supply Chain are delighted to be exclusively supporting a world-leading engineering organisation in their search for a Project & Programme Delivery Manager. This is a rare opportunity to join a global industry leader with a long-established reputation for innovation, quality, and customer excellence.

The Role

Reporting to the Senior Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and delivering complex programmes on time and within budget. Acting as the main customer interface, you will manage cross-functional programme teams and ensure the seamless delivery of customer requirements to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Define programme scope, goals and deliverables that align with business objectives and stakeholder expectations.Develop and maintain detailed programme plans, schedules, and risk assessments.Act as the principal point of contact for customers on all contractual and programme matters.Lead, motivate, and manage programme teams to ensure successful outcomes.Monitor and control programme progress, ensuring milestones are achieved on time, within budget, and to required quality standards.Proactively identify and manage risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.Conduct post-programme reviews and lessons learned exercises to drive continuous improvement.Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.Ensure accurate documentation and reporting in line with company standards.

Skills & Experience

Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.Proven track record in project/programme management, with hands-on experience of managing the full project lifecycle.Strong customer management experience, with the ability to influence and develop long-term relationships.Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM) and an understanding of commercial, finance and contract management.Proficiency in MS Office and project management toolsets.Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate cross-functional teams.Commercial awareness and diplomacy.

Personal Attributes

We are seeking a self-motivated individual with a positive outlook and a collaborative approach. You will be equally comfortable working independently or leading teams, with strong communication and organisational skills. A willingness to travel occasionally and to engage with production environments is required.

In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and main point of contact for a portfolio of valued clients. Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of strategic client accounts, acting as the trusted partner and first point of contact.Lead on client-focused projects, ensuring requirements are captured, communicated, and delivered effectively across teams.Collaborate closely with colleagues in operations, marketing, design, and logistics to align internal capabilities with client needs.Support the smooth onboarding of new clients and drive continuous improvement of the customer journey.Anticipate challenges and provide proactive solutions that balance client expectations with business objectives.Regularly meet with clients (virtually and face-to-face) to review performance, explore opportunities, and strengthen long-term partnerships.Maintain accurate records of communications and produce clear reports on account performance, project progress, and growth opportunities.Represent the business at client sites, events, and industry forums both in the UK and internationally

About You:

A personable and professional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.Strong relationship-building skills with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.Experience in account management, client services, or customer success roles.Able to manage multiple priorities, with high attention to detail and problem-solving ability.Collaborative team player who works effectively across different business functions.Flexibility to travel (with overnight stays where necessary). UK Driving licence.
