Butler Rose are excluisvely appointed and are seeking an experienced and personable Strategic Account Manager to join a growing and forward-thinking organisation that delivers innovative solutions & products to a diverse and international client base. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Sales & Customer Account professional to build long-term partnerships with high-profile clients and support the delivery of exceptional customer journey's.
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor and main point of contact for a portfolio of valued clients. You will focus on understanding their needs, providing solutions, and ensuring smooth communication between internal teams and stakeholders. The role is less about sales transactions and more about nurturing partnerships, supporting growth, and ensuring on-going client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of strategic client accounts, acting as the trusted partner and first point of contact.Lead on client-focused projects, ensuring requirements are captured, communicated, and delivered effectively across teams.Collaborate closely with colleagues in operations, marketing, design, and logistics to align internal capabilities with client needs.Support the smooth onboarding of new clients and drive continuous improvement of the customer journey.Anticipate challenges and provide proactive solutions that balance client expectations with business objectives.Regularly meet with clients (virtually and face-to-face) to review performance, explore opportunities, and strengthen long-term partnerships.Maintain accurate records of communications and produce clear reports on account performance, project progress, and growth opportunities.Represent the business at client sites, events, and industry forums both in the UK and internationallyAbout You:
A personable and professional communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.Strong relationship-building skills with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.Experience in account management, client services, or customer success roles.Able to manage multiple priorities, with high attention to detail and problem-solving ability.Collaborative team player who works effectively across different business functions.Flexibility to travel (with overnight stays where necessary). This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth within a highly innovative and technically advanced engineering organisation operating within the aerospace sector.
This is a pivotal role focused on driving sales growth across the UK, Europe, and Rest of World markets (excluding the US), with a strong emphasis on developing and expanding business within the military aerospace sector.
The RoleReporting directly to the Head of Sales, you will take ownership of both new business development and strategic account management. You will play a critical role in expanding market presence by selling complex, high-value engineering solutions into aerospace platforms.
Success in this role requires a deep understanding of the aerospace sales cycle, where design and qualification phases can extend over multiple years. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities early, nurturing long-term relationships, and converting them into sustainable revenue streams.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading all sales activities into the aerospace and defence sectorsDeveloping and executing strategic sales plans with clear growth targetsBuilding and managing key customer relationships across OEMs and Tier 1 suppliersDriving new business acquisition while growing existing accountsNavigating complex, long sales cycles within aerospace programmesCollaborating cross-functionally to deliver integrated technical solutionsMaintaining accurate pipeline and forecasting data via CRM systemsEnsuring compliance with export regulations and international standardsAbout YouTo be successful in this role, you must combine strong commercial acumen with a solid technical foundation.
Essential requirements:
Degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProven experience selling technical products or systems into the aerospace sector is essential.Demonstrable success in both new business development and account managementExperience managing long and complex sales cyclesStrong understanding of engineering-led solutions and applicationsExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsDesirable:
