Senior Accounts/ Tax Manager - Accountancy Practice

We are working exclusively with the owners of a highly successful, profitable and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Leyland, who are looking for a talented and commercially minded individual to play a key role in the continued success and development of the business.
With an established client base, a strong team, excellent systems and ambitious plans for growth, this is an exciting opportunity to take on a broader leadership position within a thriving practice.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Working closely with the owners, you'll have the opportunity to take responsibility for key areas of practice management, support and develop the existing team, and contribute to the ongoing growth and profitability of the business.
This isn't simply an accounts production role. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with clients, developing people, improving processes and contributing ideas that help a practice move forward.
For an ambitious individual, there is genuine scope to develop into wider practice leadership as the business continues to grow and you will have the autonomy to run the practice as you see fit with greater future rewards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead, support and develop a team of qualified and non-qualified accountants
- Oversee client portfolios, accounts preparation and review, ensuring high technical and service standards
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, providing proactive advice and commercial support
- Work closely with the owners on the day-to-day management and development of the practice
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and profitability
- Support business development activities and help attract new clients
- Contribute to staff development, recruitment and succession planning
- Embrace modern technology, AI, outsourcing and innovative ways of working
- Play an increasingly influential role in the firms strategic direction and growth
ABOUT YOU
We are keen to speak with experienced accountancy practice professionals who are ready to take on a broader leadership role.
Ideally, you'll have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification
- Strong experience within a UK accountancy practice
- A solid technical background in accounts preparation, review and general practice services
- Experience managing client portfolios and supervising or developing staff
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Good commercial awareness and an interest in business development
- A positive, proactive approach and confidence in making decisions
- An interest in technology, innovation and improving the way practices operate
Above all, we're looking for someone with the personality, ambition and drive to help take an already successful practice forward.
You don't necessarily need to be a Director already. If you're an experienced Accounts Manager or Senior Manager who feels ready for greater responsibility, wed be very interested in hearing from you.
