An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Finance Manager to join a rapidly growing, private equity-backed organisation in Burnley.

As the business enters its next stage of expansion, significant investment is being made across the finance function. Reporting to the Group Finance Director and working closely with the CFO, you will take ownership of the finance function.

This is a broad, commercially focused role where you'll have the opportunity to improve financial reporting, strengthen controls, drive efficiencies and provide valuable insight to the operational leadership team, with excellent progression and development opportunities. You will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day finance activities of the division, ensuring high-quality reporting, effective controls and strong financial support to the wider business.

Operating within a fast-moving, sales-focused environment, you'll combine strong technical finance skills with a commercial mindset. You'll work closely with senior operational stakeholders, challenge where appropriate and use financial information to help shape business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the full month-end and management accounts process.Prepare flash reporting and provide timely updates to senior management.Complete journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.Act as the key finance business partner for operational stakeholders.Provide commercial analysis and insight to support business performance.Assist with annual budgets, forecasts and ongoing financial planning.Coordinate audit requirements and prepare supporting schedules.Review and approve supplier payment runs.Oversee payroll activities and ensure processes are completed accurately.Lead and support the local finance team, maintaining effective day-to-day operations.Enhance management information and reporting in line with business needs.Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and efficiencies.Develop strong working relationships with finance teams across the wider Group.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

We're looking for a proactive and commercially aware finance professional who is comfortable operating in a high-growth environment.

You'll be confident dealing with senior stakeholders, able to influence and challenge effectively, and equally comfortable getting involved in the detail when required. The ability to combine strong financial control with commercial thinking will be key to your success.

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be QBE.Strong experience delivering end-to-end management accounts.Proven month-end and financial reporting experience.Good technical knowledge of journals and balance sheet reconciliations.Experience with budgeting and forecasting.Advanced or strong Excel skills.Experience with Sage Intacct or a similar ERP system.Previous experience managing, mentoring or supervising a finance team.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.A hands-on, solutions-focused and commercially minded approach.

I am looking for an experienced S&OP / Demand Planning Manager to lead and develop the demand planning and Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for a growing and commercially focused business based in Burney, Lancashire.

This is a high-impact role where you'll bring together commercial, supply chain, operations and finance teams to improve forecast accuracy, optimise inventory and ensure the business has the right products available at the right time.

You'll take ownership of the end-to-end demand planning and S&OP cycle, providing clear insight and challenge to senior stakeholders and helping drive a more proactive, data-led approach to supply and demand.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and continuously improve the S&OP / IBP process, ensuring robust monthly planning cycles and effective cross-functional engagement.Lead the demand planning and forecasting process across the business.Develop and maintain statistical and commercial forecasts, balancing historical data with market intelligence and commercial inputs.Challenge forecast assumptions and improve forecast accuracy, bias and planning performance.Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Procurement and Supply Chain to identify risks and opportunities.Translate demand forecasts into clear supply requirements and highlight potential capacity, inventory and service issues.Develop and report on key planning KPIs, providing insight and recommendations to senior leadership.Drive improvements in inventory optimisation, availability and customer service levels.Identify trends, demand changes and potential supply risks, putting appropriate mitigation plans in place.Lead, coach and develop members of the demand planning team.Improve planning processes, systems, data quality and ways of working.Support longer-term business planning, scenario analysis and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical demand planning expertise with the confidence and communication skills to influence stakeholders across the business.

You'll ideally have:

Significant experience in S&OP, demand planning, forecasting or supply chain planning.A proven track record of improving forecast accuracy, inventory performance and/or customer service.Experience working within a manufacturing environment.Experience leading an S&OP process within a complex, fast-paced environment.Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to turn data into actionable insight.Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills at both operational and senior-management level.Experience managing, mentoring or developing a planning team.Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP, planning or forecasting systems.A commercially minded approach and the ability to understand the wider business impact of planning decisions.Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge constructively.

This is a senior leadership role, and will be responsible for developing forecasting strategies, improving planning processes and ensuring demand plans support the wider commercial and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

Significant experience (typically five to ten years) within demand planning, forecasting or integrated business planning leadership roles.Proven experience delivering planning transformation or change management initiatives.Strong understanding of forecasting methodologies and demand planning technologies.Experience using planning and reporting tools to support business decision making.Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP.Advanced Microsoft Office skills together with reporting platforms such as Power BI.Strong commercial awareness with a sound understanding of Finance, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement and Supply Chain operations.Experience implementing Integrated Business Planning (IBP) or comparable planning frameworks.Excellent analytical ability with confidence interpreting complex datasets.Previous people management experience with the ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.Experience managing multiple business initiatives simultaneously.A track record of improving forecasting performance, process compliance, inventory efficiency and project delivery.
