This role is suited to someone who is technically strong, commercially minded, and confident in managing a client portfolio while ensuring compliance with evolving accounting and tax legislation.BenefitsCompetitive salary25 days' holiday (including office closure at Christmas)Additional leave for birthdays and long serviceHybrid and flexible working optionsRegular team social events and away tripsPrivate medical insurance after two years of serviceBonus and incentive schemes for introducing new business and cross-selling servicesThis is a great opportunity for an ambitious accountant to progress within a growing firm.ResponsibilitiesPreparation and filing of year-end accounts, business tax, and capital allowances for a range of clients, including limited companies, LLPs, partnerships, and sole traders.Preparation and submission of Self-Assessment and personal tax returns.Assistance with R&D tax claims and Capital Gains Tax computations.Ensuring all compliance work is completed within deadlines.Reviewing all year-end assignments and tax computations before final sign-off.Maintaining high technical and quality control standards in line with accounting regulations such as FRS 102.Outsourcing and Advisory WorkManaging a portfolio of clients for bookkeeping, VAT, and management accounts services.Reviewing bookkeeping, VAT returns, and management accounts before final approval.Ensuring timely collection and return of client documents.Preparing management accounts, financial projections, and break-even analyses.Advising clients on business efficiency, profitability, and cash flow management.Conducting business valuations and assisting in raising finance.Liaising with financial institutions on behalf of clients.Management and Practice DevelopmentSupporting Directors and Associate Directors in managing a client portfolio.Training and mentoring Client Managers, Senior Client Accountants, and junior staff.Ensuring workload is effectively delegated within the team.Developing the firm's cloud accounting capabilities and digital tools.Managing a team of Client Managers and accountants across a shared client portfolio.Overseeing billing processes and assisting with credit control.Identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional services to clients.Administrative and General DutiesEnsuring client records are up to date.Using software such as TaxCalc and Xero for client work.Supporting the onboarding of new clients.Attending client meetings with senior management.Overseeing Work in Progress (WIP) management and job tracking.RequirementsA minimum of five years' experience in an accountancy practice.Ideally AAT or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.Strong technical knowledge in accounts and tax compliance.Ability to manage multiple client relationships effectively.
