Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established firm based in Bridgnorth. They have a great opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior or recently promoted to Audit Assistant Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries, while supervising junior team members and contributing to the firm's continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for a portfolio of clients in accordance with UK auditing standards (ISA (UK)).
  • Prepare and review audit planning documents, risk assessments, and audit strategy memos.
  • Supervise and review the work of audit juniors and semi-seniors, ensuring compliance with firm methodology and professional standards.
  • Perform technical reviews of financial statements prepared under FRS 102, FRS 105, and IFRS where applicable.
  • Liaise with clients and audit managers throughout the audit process to ensure effective communication and timely completion.
  • Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations for process improvement.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients during audit engagements, maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Manage client expectations and ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Assist in resolving technical accounting and auditing queries.
  • Coach, mentor, and support junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.


Key Requirements:

  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist) with a strong academic background.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of audit experience in a UK public practice environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102 / 105) and ISA (UK) auditing standards.
  • Experience with audit software such as CaseWare, CCH, or Mercia Audit.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and cloud-based accounting systems.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
