Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a growing accountancy firm in the recruitment of an Accounts & Audit Senior to join their Audit team in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA finalist or newly qualified accountant looking for a balanced 50/50 Audit & Accounts role. You'll be working closely with Managers and senior leadership, gaining exposure to a varied client portfolio while supporting junior staff and continuing your professional development.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare year-end statutory accounts under FRS 102 and FRS 105 for a varied client portfolioLead audit fieldwork, supporting assignments from planning through to completionAssist with audit planning, risk assessments, and identifying key audit issuesReview work completed by trainees and provide coaching and constructive feedbackAct as a key point of contact for clients, building strong professional relationshipsSupport managers with monitoring budgets and ensuring assignments are delivered to a high standardAssist clients with accounting queries and cloud accounting software


Key Requirements

ACA or ACCA finalist or qualifiedExperience within an Audit & Accounts role in UK practiceStrong statutory accounts preparation experience under FRS 102 and FRS 105Audit experience, including planning and fieldworkExperience reviewing or mentoring junior staffStrong communication and client-facing skillsExperience with cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to prepare statutory accounts, complete statutory audits, prepare corporation tax returns as well as provide other professional advice.

Role Requirements:

Lead and complete statutory audits from planning through to finalisation.Prepare and review audit planning documents, risk assessments, and testing strategies.Conduct fieldwork, liaising with clients on-site and remotely.Draft audit reports and ensure compliance with auditing standards and firm procedures.Identify and communicate audit findings, technical issues, and opportunities for improvements.Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and relevant regulations.Prepare management accounts.Conduct bookkeeping and VAT returns.Prepare and review corporate tax computations.Staff Supervision & Development.Act as a key point of contact for clients during assignments.Build trusted client relationships by delivering reliable, efficient service.Identify additional service needs and flag opportunities to senior management.

Required Skills:
