Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established firm who's looking to expand their current team. You will be required to provide high quality audit services to a wide range of clients, with the ability to undertake Accounting work.
Role Requirements:
Plan and undertake audit and independent examination assignment on a portfolio of clients.Support the audit manager and RI on audit planning and fieldwork.Prepare and maintain audit files and working papers.Supervise junior team members during audits.Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve audit queries.Assist in the preparation of year-end statutory accounts, corporation tax computations and returns for limited companies and groups.Assist in the production of management accounts and bookkeeping tasks.Assist in other compliance matters such as VAT returns.Complete ad hoc assignments to meet client needs.Identify and recognise potential new business opportunities and inform management. Act as an ambassador of the firm and participate in office marketing events, keeping abreast of the services we offer.Monitor chargeable time and ensure maximum recovery, meet or exceed budgets and targets where possible.Maintain up to date technical knowledge and attend all relevant CPD training, conferences and seminars.Use relevant support networks to clarify knowledge on complex queries.Required Skills:

The Role
As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will report to the Audit Managers and take responsibility for leading audits and supervising junior members of the team. The role offers an approximate split of 80% audit and 20% accounts preparation, giving you a broad and varied workload.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and deliver audits from planning through to completion (approx. 80% audit / 20% accounts).Planning, supervising and carrying out audits with turnovers up to £250 million, including specialist audits (e.g. charities, pensions, solicitors, schools, FSA)Supervise junior staff, providing technical guidance and on-the-job support.Prepare draft corporation tax computations and statutory accounts under FRS 102.Prepare consolidated accounts and assist with group reporting where required.Draft management recommendations following audit fieldwork.Review and finalise audit files within deadlines and budgets.Key Requirements:
ACA / ACCA part-qualified, qualifed (ideal) or finalist level- Essential to have first time passesMinimum 2.5 years' experience in an accountancy practice with strong audit exposure.Confident managing audits for clients with turnovers up to £250m.Proficiency in CCH, ProAudit, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, and Alphatax (Desirable)Excellent communication skills, both with clients and team members.Strong organisational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.What's on Offer:

Role Requirements -
Preparation of accounts for corporate and non-corporate as well as not-for-profit entities to a high and professional standard for review by partners/managers.
Performing audit functions as part of a team, including on site field work and testing for review by audit seniors/manager.
Dealing with some client bookkeeping, VAT returns & management accounts assignments, when required.
Preparation of Corporation & Income Tax Computations & CT600 Returns.
Preparation and submission of company statutory forms and accounts and processing statutory documents.
Person requirements-
At least 2+ years' experience in a mixed accounts and audit position working for a UK based practice
Ideally studying towards a recognised accounting qualification such as the AAT, ACA or ACCA although those qualified by experience will be considered.
Proficient in the use of accounting software, ideally IRIS, Xero, Sage 50 and are a competent user of MS Office packages such as Excel & Word
