Assistant Management Accountant

Butler Rose is delighted to be recruiting for an ambitious and driven Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with Assistant Management Accounting experience who is keen to develop their skills and progress into a full Management Accountant role in the future.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating across both management accounting and transactional finance duties, taking a hands-on approach and supporting the wider finance function where required.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.Prepare and post accounting journals, including accruals and prepayments.Produce sales, margin and cost analysis reports.Assist in maintaining a fully reconciled balance sheet.Support with month-end processes and reporting deadlines.Maintain the fixed asset register and process depreciation.Prepare VAT returns for review.Reconcile customer rebates and commission calculations.Prepare supplier payment runs in line with agreed schedules.Support purchase ledger, sales ledger and other transactional finance activities as required.Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors.Provide general finance support across the department.About YouPrevious experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance role.Experience supporting the production of monthly management accounts.Essential: Strong working knowledge of Sage 200.Happy to be hands-on and support transactional finance tasks when needed.Studying towards or interested in pursuing AAT, ACCA or CIMA qualifications.Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Excellent communication and organisational abilities.Positive, flexible and proactive approach to work.Looking for genuine career development into a Management Accountant position.What's on OfferExcellent opportunity for career progression and professional development.Varied role with exposure to both operational and management accounting.Supportive and collaborative finance team.Competitive salary and benefits package.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who is studying towards a professional accounting qualification, or looking to make their first move from practice into industry. The role offers excellent exposure across a multi-entity business, with genuine opportunities for career development and progression.

Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end management accounts.Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.Analyse financial data and support reporting activities.Reconcile balance sheet accounts.Maintain fixed asset registers.Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.Support payroll processing where required.Produce ad hoc financial analysis and reports.Contribute to process improvements and finance projects.Work closely with the wider finance team to support business objectives.
