Marketing Executive

Location: Morecambe area, Lancashire
Contract: 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity cover) - Possibility of a permanent role at the end of the contract

The Opportunity

Butler Rose is exclusively supporting an expanding local business with the appointment of a Marketing Executive to join its team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave.

This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and commercially minded marketing professional to take ownership of a varied workload, delivering engaging content and campaigns across multiple digital channels. Working closely with the wider team, you will help strengthen brand visibility, improve customer engagement and generate interest from prospective customers.

The business offers a collaborative working environment where initiative is encouraged, ideas are welcomed, and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a tangible contribution.

The client is ready to appoint, and there may be scope for a permanent position at the end of the fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the marketing schedule, developing campaigns and content plans that support the organisation's wider commercial priorities.

  • Keep the company website fresh and engaging by creating articles, updating existing pages and improving the effectiveness of key landing pages.

  • Oversee business social media activity, particularly LinkedIn, producing relevant content and supporting the wider team with materials to help develop new business opportunities.

  • Create professional marketing assets for online and offline use, ensuring all designs reflect established brand standards.

  • Develop and distribute email campaigns, customer communications and newsletters to maintain engagement with existing audiences and reach potential customers.

  • Capture and edit photographs for use across marketing channels and promotional materials.

  • Monitor campaign performance and digital engagement, preparing regular reports and identifying practical ways to improve future activity.

  • Provide support across wider marketing projects and take ownership of additional tasks as business priorities evolve.

About You

We are looking for a proactive, creative and well-organised marketer who can balance content creation with the practical delivery and measurement of campaigns.

You will ideally bring:

  • Experience planning marketing content, writing compelling copy and delivering campaigns from concept through to completion.

  • Familiarity with WordPress or a similar website content management platform.

  • A background in managing professional social media channels, with the ability to create engaging content for LinkedIn.

  • Strong working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with the ability to produce polished, consistent marketing materials.

  • Experience using email campaign software and customer relationship management systems.

  • Confidence interpreting digital marketing data through tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console or Semrush.

  • Practical photography and image-editing skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail.

  • The ability to organise projects, manage deadlines and prioritise competing demands effectively.

  • A commercial mindset, understanding how well-executed marketing can support customer acquisition, retention and business growth.

  • A self-starting attitude, with the confidence to work independently, identify opportunities and see projects through to completion.

Desirable Experience

Additional skills in any of the following areas would be beneficial, although they are not essential:

  • Website development: Experience adapting website layouts, working with front-end code or developing interactive online features.

  • Paid digital campaigns: Exposure to planning, running or improving paid advertising, particularly through LinkedIn.

  • SEO and emerging search strategies: Knowledge of keyword analysis, on-page optimisation and techniques to improve visibility across search engines and AI-powered search platforms.

  • Video content: Experience recording and editing promotional videos using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects.

The Person

Beyond technical ability, we are looking for someone who combines creativity with initiative and a collaborative approach.

You should be comfortable taking responsibility for your work, looking for ways to improve results and adapting as priorities change. Just as importantly, you will value working with others, communicate thoughtfully and contribute positively to the wider team.

What's on Offer?

  • 20 days + Banks (with the option to purchase an additional 5)

  • The opportunity to take ownership of a varied marketing remit.

  • A supportive working environment where new ideas and initiative are encouraged.

  • Competitive salary and performance-related incentives.

  • The potential for a permanent opportunity following the initial contract, depending on business requirements.

  • Working pattern: Monday to Friday - Full Time

  • Workplace: Office-based Monday to Friday.

  • Due to the office location, access to a vehicle would be advantageous
