Accounts & Advisory Manager

Salary Range: £55,000 - £70,000 (DOE)

ButlerRose practice is delighted to be supporting of our clients who's an independent firm and they are looking for an ambitious individual to help drive the future of their accounts and advisory team. You will be working as part of a wider private client team, they work with a variety of rural enterprises to include landed estates, farms and rural businesses, and equine and bloodstock.

Key Responsibilities:
* Client Service & Portfolio management: Manage a portfolio of rural clients which will involve significant internal liaison, meetings with clients, approve technically robust tax computations, identify technical issues, deliver complex tax advisory outcomes, maintain technical knowledge, and provide exceptional client service in line with the firms Charter.
* Technical Delivery: Demonstrate exceptional technical knowledge and deliver this to clients through robust, effective advisory reporting and guidance. Specific technical knowledge required is outlined below.
* Team Leadership & Staff Development: Manage and develop the team, conduct reviews, provide feedback, delegate appropriately, and build a confident, technically capable team.
* Operational Efficiency & Workflow Management: Drive process efficiency and technology adoption, oversee WIP and billing, maintain compliance trackers, drive team productivity through recoveries and chargeable output, ensure files meet quality standards, and support client onboarding.
* Business Development: Identify advisory opportunities both within existing clients and new clients, support partners on complex client matters and attend external events to build personal and the Firms profile
* Firmwide Contribution: Collaborate with other teams and contribute to wider firm initiatives including best?practice and technology projects.

Personal Requirements:
* Core advisory areas may include, but are not limited to: Accountancy Standards (UK GAAP, FRS105, FRS102 1A), Income Tax, VAT, Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Trusts and Estates and HMRC Investigations.
* Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) and/or tax adviser (CTA) with exposure to a varied client base.
* Strong interpersonal skills are required in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
* A keen and insightful appreciation of the issues facing rural clients and an ability to deliver bespoke tax solutions to meet their needs.
* An ability to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative.
* High level of analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice.

A leading accountancy firm is seeking an ABAS Manager to join its growing advisory and business services team. This is a key leadership role within a high-performing practice, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a diverse client portfolio, lead teams, and play a central role in driving both client service excellence and commercial performance. The role combines hands-on client management with team development and strategic input into workflow and delivery across a varied portfolio of SME and mid-market clients.

Role Responsibilities

Own and manage a client portfolio with a higher level of client responsibility.Oversee team portfolios and support workflow planning across engagements.Deliver revenue and profitability targets across your portfolio.Manage all aspects of client service delivery, with partner/director support on technical matters.Develop and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.Identify and develop opportunities for the wider group and escalate to directors/partners.Provide proactive client support to reduce reliance on partner involvement.Use workflow management tools to oversee delivery across your team and portfolio.Work autonomously while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.Ensure delivery of high-quality technical advice and client outcomes.Coach, mentor, and develop junior members of the team.

Personal Requirements

ACA / ACCA or equivalent.Proven experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy or professional services environment.Exposure to a range of industries and SME/mid-market clients.Demonstrable experience in coaching and developing junior staff.Strong client relationship management and communication skills.Commercially aware with an ability to identify growth opportunities.
