Butler Rose are delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing manufacturing business in Newton Abbot, with the recruitment of a Production Planner.
With a long history of success and an international customer base, our client supplies products across a wide range of industries. Their continued growth has created the need for this newly established position, offering the opportunity for an experienced planner to make a real impact.
The Role
Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing production scheduling and ensuring that resources, materials, and capacity align with customer demand. You will work closely with operations, sales, and procurement teams to keep production running smoothly, proactively address challenges, and help drive efficiencies across the business. The role offers a competitive salary range, with the client open to considering applicants with different levels of skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Forecast, plan, and schedule production and picks in line with demand.
- Determine manpower, equipment, and materials required to meet production targets.
- Assign and monitor daily production and picking activities.
- Maintain oversight of stock levels and collaborate with colleagues to meet requirements.
- Track jobs/orders to ensure timely completion.
- Resolve production issues promptly to minimise delays.
- Provide progress updates to stakeholders as needed.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to meet delivery and quality targets.
- Produce regular reports on relevant data.
Candidate Profile
- Previous experience in production planning and/or operations is essential.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage confidently across all levels.
- Excellent organisational and analytical abilities, with a high attention to detail.
- Experience of ERP systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- A proactive, reliable, and self-motivated approach.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Team-oriented with a collaborative working style.
