An established and forward-thinking accountancy practice is seeking a talented Tax Assistant Manager or Tax Manager to join its growing Private Client Tax team in Ely. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced tax professional who enjoys a blend of compliance and advisory work, particularly with private clients, trusts and high-net-worth individuals.
Role Responsibilities
- Manage your own portfolio of private clients, ensuring compliance and filing deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns, capital gains computations and income schedules.
- Provide advice on Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, trusts and non-resident tax matters.
- Assist with and draft tax planning reports and advisory notes for review.
- Support Partners with complex advisory projects and client communications.
- Oversee and review work of junior team members, providing feedback and guidance.
- Contribute to business development, maintaining and strengthening client relationships and identifying opportunities for added value.
- Stay current with tax legislation, ensuring advice and compliance work are accurate and up to date.
Personal Requirements
- ATT qualified (or QBE) with a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience in personal tax.
- CTA qualification (or working towards it) is highly desirable.
- Strong background in personal tax compliance with exposure to advisory work.
- Experience with trusts and IHT matters would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, able to explain complex issues clearly to clients.
- A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
