Butler Rose are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious and well-established manufacturing business in the Plymouth area. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected employer, taking on a pivotal role within their Procurement function.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Coordinator will play a key part in supporting supplier relationships and ensuring all purchasing requirements are managed effectively. This position would suit an organised and driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The Role
As Procurement Coordinator, you will:
- Place purchase orders with suppliers in line with forecast and demand data.
- Manage the full administration of purchasing processes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Work closely with Planning, Production, and Customer Services to maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Liaise across departments to coordinate order confirmations, amendments, and product details.
- Arrange and track transport of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
- Expedite orders where necessary to minimise shortages.
- Monitor stock quality and waste, raising discrepancies with suppliers where needed.
- Support supplier relationship development under supervision and provide advice on procurement matters.
- Contribute to departmental KPIs around on-time, on-budget purchasing and stock optimisation.
About You
We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Confidence with numerical problem solving.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working across teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Good standard of education (GCSE essential; A-Level or equivalent desirable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English.
