We're currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy and friendly finance team based in Preston on a temporary ongoing contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous accounts experience who is looking for a role they can start straight away.

You'll play a key role in supporting the finance department with a variety of accounting and administrative tasks, helping to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately.
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices.
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations.
  • Supporting credit control and chasing outstanding payments.
  • Processing supplier payments and handling account queries.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and updating accounting systems.
  • Assisting with month-end processes where required.
  • Providing general administrative support to the finance team.

About You

  • Previous experience working in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or similar finance role.
  • Good understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and finance software.
  • A positive, proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Available to start immediately.
