Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Hitchin with the recruitment of an Audit Semi Senior / Audit Senior

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA part-qualified professional with practice experience to join a supportive audit team. Working with a varied portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, you will take ownership of audit assignments while continuing to develop your technical skills and progress your career within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead audit assignments from planning through to completionPrepare audit files and working papers to a high professional standardLiaise directly with clients throughout the audit processIdentify audit risks and communicate findings to managersSupport and mentor junior team membersEnsure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

Key Requirements

ACA or ACCA part-qualified Minimum 3 years experience within a medium-size UK accountancy practiceExperience leading audit assignments with minimal supervisionGood understanding of UK auditing standardsStrong communication and client relationship skillsExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlinesPrevious experience supervising junior staffKnowledge CaseWare (highly beneficial)

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified/qualified accountant looking step into a senior level role across audit and accounts within a close-knit and collaborative environment. The role offers a 40% audit and 60% accounts splits alongside the opportunity to work with a varied portfolio acting as a direct point of contact.

Key Responsibilities

Assist on audits from planning through to completionPrepare statutory accounts, bookkeeping, and tax compliance work for a varied client portfolioReview work completed by junior staff and support their developmentAct as one of the key point of contact for clientsRepresent the firm professionally across client engagements

Key Requirements

Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a highly regarded independent accountancy firm in the recruitment of a either a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to gain broad exposure across accounts and audit, working with a diverse client base across sectors including property, construction, professional services, retail, and hospitality. The role offers strong progression, flexible working, and a supportive study package.


Key Responsibilities

Support a mixed portfolio of clients across accounts and audit work (approx. 60% accounts / 40% audit)Assist with audit assignments both in-house and at client sitesPrepare accounts, bookkeeping, and tax compliance workReview work completed by trainees and support their developmentWork closely with Supervisors and Managers to deliver high-quality client serviceEnsure compliance requirements are met across assignments

Key Requirements

ACCA or ACA part-qualified or newly qualified (first time passes essential)2-3 years experience within an general practice environmentExposure to audit, accounts preparation, bookkeeping, and tax assignmentsStrong working knowledge of compliance requirementsConfident using Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Excel and similar softwareProactive, client-focused, and commercially awareStrong communication skills and a positive team approachAssist with support of junior trainees
