A small, established independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis. Working within a close-knit team, youll support a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, carrying out a broad range of bookkeeping, VAT and payroll duties while providing first-class client support.
Role Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain bookkeeping records for a varied portfolio of clients.Complete and submit VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.Process weekly and monthly payrolls, including pension administration where required.Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.Process purchase and sales ledger transactions.Assist with credit control and client account queries.Provide day-to-day support and guidance to clients on bookkeeping and accounting software.Liaise with HMRC regarding client matters when required.Support the wider team with general accounting and administrative duties.Work with cloud accounting software including Xero and QuickBooks, Sage.Personal Requirements
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential.Strong bookkeeping, VAT and payroll experience.Confident working with multiple clients and managing varied workloads.Good working knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks and/or Sage.Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.Friendly, professional and client-focused approach.Able to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive client relationships.Qualified by Experience (QBE), AAT qualified or equivalent practical experience considered.If youre an experienced practice bookkeeper looking for a flexible part-time opportunity within a supportive and well-established accountancy practice, apply today.
