A Top 40 Accounting Firm is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its Peterborough team. The role will suit an ACA/ACCA qualified professional who is confident managing audit work for a varied portfolio of SME corporate clients. Experience with academies and other not-for-profit organisations would also be desirable. You will have responsibility for delivering high-quality audits, managing client relationships and supporting the development of junior colleagues, with hybrid working available two days per week from home.
Role Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of external audit and accounts clients, ensuring high standards of service and professionalism.Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP.Design and perform substantive testing, control walkthroughs and analytical review procedures.Assess financial risks and identify opportunities to improve client systems and processes.Prepare and complete audit files for Partner review.Attend client meetings alongside the audit lead Partner and build strong client relationships.Manage and organise the work of junior team members to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.Provide technical guidance and support to junior colleagues, helping with their ongoing development.Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure audits are delivered accurately, efficiently and on time.Keep up to date with changes to FRSs, ISAs and other relevant accounting and audit requirements.Personal Requirements
ACA or ACCA qualified.Current or recent experience within a UK accountancy practice is essential.Strong audit experience with a good understanding of UK audit standards and ISA requirements.Experience managing a portfolio of external clients.Experience working with SME corporate clients.Experience with academies and/or not-for-profit entities would be desirable.Full, unrestricted right to work in the UK.
