Senior Payroll Administrator (Full or Part-Time)

The Opportunity
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator to join a friendly and progressive accountancy practice in Chester. This role offers the chance to join a collaborative team environment and take on greater responsibility in a growing firm.

The Role
As part of a busy payroll team, you'll manage a diverse portfolio of small and high-volume payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and delivering excellent service to clients.

Key responsibilities include:

* End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
* Managing auto-enrolment pensions
* Handling payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
* Liaising with HMRC and pension providers
* Processing BACS, PAYE, CIS, holiday pay, SMP/SSP
* Managing starters and leavers (P45s/P46s)
* Supporting P11D processing
* Staying up to date with payroll legislation
* Mentoring and supporting junior team members
You will receive full system training and ongoing support within a friendly, collaborative team environment.

About You
* Proven payroll experience (accountancy practice or bureau preferred)
* Strong understanding of payroll legislation and processes
* Experience with BrightPay (desirable)
* Ability to manage multiple payrolls and meet deadlines
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Proactive, organised, and capable of working independently and as part of a team
* Proficient in Microsoft Office

* Salary up to £31,000 (depending on experience)
