As a key member of the finance function, you will take ownership of debt recovery activities, support the management of junior team members, and play an important role in maintaining strong cash flow across the business.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

Driving timely debt recovery across a portfolio of customer accountsMonitoring aged debt and producing regular reports for senior managementUploading invoices to customer payment portalsSupervising and supporting Credit Control AssistantsAssisting with payment allocations and bank reconciliationsMaintaining accurate records and reporting of outstanding debtBuilding and developing strong relationships with customersResolving customer queries through collaboration with finance and operational teamsEnsuring credit control processes are followed effectively and efficientlyAbout You

The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience within a credit control roleStrong debt collection and account management skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalThe ability to build positive and professional customer relationshipsStrong organisational skills and attention to detailExperience using accounting software packages and Microsoft Office applicationsPrevious experience within construction, engineering, contracting, or a related industry would be advantageousAAT qualification, or equivalent finance qualification, would be beneficial but is not essentialExperience supervising or mentoring junior team members would be desirableWhat's on Offer?Join a growing and financially stable organisationGenuine opportunities for progression and career developmentCollaborative and supportive working environmentFull-time permanent position based in PlymouthCompetitive salary and benefits package
