Senior Finance Analyst - Ongoing contract

Contract: Temporary ongoing
Rate: Competitive PAYE day rate

We're looking for a Senior Finance Analyst to join a high-performing finance team supporting a large-scale operational environment. This role is suited to someone who enjoys turning financial data into meaningful business insight, influencing decision-making, and ensuring strong financial controls are maintained across multiple workstreams.

Working closely with operational teams and key stakeholders, you'll provide financial analysis, forecasting and reporting while helping to improve financial performance and governance.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial information that supports business planning and operational performance. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Producing monthly financial reports, accruals and operating expenditure forecasts.
  • Providing analysis of budgets, forecasts and actual spend, highlighting key trends and areas of concern.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models, trackers and performance dashboards.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end reporting activities.
  • Reviewing supplier expenditure and contractual commitments to ensure spend remains within approved budgets.
  • Monitoring financial performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensuring purchase orders, financial coding and procurement activities comply with internal governance requirements.
  • Supporting the approval process for financial changes, commitments and budget amendments.
  • Analysing financial information within SAP to produce meaningful reports for operational and finance teams.
  • Building strong working relationships with budget holders and business stakeholders, providing financial advice and support where required.
  • Contributing to process improvements that enhance reporting accuracy, financial controls and business performance.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the finance team where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have experience within a commercial, operational or project-based finance environment and be confident managing large volumes of financial data.

You'll also bring:

  • Previous experience in a Finance Analyst or Senior Finance Analyst position.
  • Strong SAP knowledge.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • The confidence to communicate financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience of procurement, financial controls or purchase-to-pay processes would be advantageous.
  • A finance, business or accounting qualification (or equivalent experience).
