Finance Manager - 12-Month FTC (Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: Stockport (Hybrid options available)
Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)
Salary: Up to £60,000 DOE

We're looking for a dynamic and experienced Finance Manager to take the reins of our finance function during a 12-month maternity cover - with genuine potential for a permanent opportunity at the end.
About the Role:
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you'll be responsible for overseeing the full finance function, driving accuracy, insight, and integrity across our numbers. You'll manage the end-to-end production of management accounts, ensure timely and compliant payroll processing, and oversee the day-to-day workload of one Accounts Assistant, helping them to grow and thrive under your leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Ownership of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
Preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
Payroll processing and related reporting
Cashflow forecasting and financial planning
Overseeing AP/AR and ensuring robust financial controls
Line management of an Accounts Assistant - coaching, development & support
Liaising with external auditors and stakeholders as needed
What We're Looking For:
Qualified or QBE finance professional (ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent)
Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior finance role
Strong understanding of management accounting, payroll and reporting
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
Confident communicator, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
A proactive mindset with a can-do attitude

Butler Rose is working with a well-established organisation in East Devon to recruit a Senior Finance Manager on a fixed-term contract for 18 months. This is a hybrid working role.
Reporting into the Head of Finance, this is a crucial role where you will manage a small team, as well as working with a wide range of stakeholders across the wider business.
Key duties will include:
Leading and developing a small finance team, working in a business partnering capacity.Develop the financial reporting process, ensuring information is communicated effectively across the business.Develop monthly management accounts reporting process with increased focus on the balance sheet.Provide advice and guidance on capital expenditure.Responsible for budgeting and forecasting processes.Assisting with production of statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors.Ensuring strong financial controls are continually in place.Work with non-finance departments, providing them financial information to help inform decision making regarding planning and forecasting.The successful candidate with ideally be a formally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) although those who are QBE or part-qualified with demonstrable experience will also be considered.
