Digital Outsourcing Manager

A highly respected and long-established independent accountancy practice in Leicester is seeking a Digital Outsourcing Manager to lead and develop its growing management accounts and outsourced finance function. This is a unique opportunity to shape an evolving service offering through innovation, technology, and leadership. You'll be at the forefront of delivering modern, digital-first finance solutions to a diverse SME client base, driving efficiency and excellence across the board.
Role Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of SME clients.
- Manage a team delivering bookkeeping, VAT returns, payroll, and forecasting services as part of a full outsourced finance function.
- Review internal processes and implement improvements using cloud accounting tools and solutions.
- Prepare and present insightful financial reports, including cash flow forecasts and performance analysis.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring high-quality, consistent service with commercial awareness.
- Drive client portfolio growth through service development and relationship management.
- Support onboarding and digital transformation initiatives for new clients.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, supporting training and professional development.
- Contribute to strategic business development and the ongoing evolution of the firm's outsourcing function.
Personal Requirements
- Qualified ACA, ACCA or qualified by experience.
- Strong background in management accounting within a UK accountancy practice.
- Proven experience in managing client portfolios across a variety of sectors.
- Proficient in cloud-based accounting platforms, particularly Xero.
- Hands-on knowledge of tools like Dext, Fathom, or similar.
- Commercially minded with a focus on delivering value-added client insights.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Confident communicator with a client-focused approach.
- Experience in digital transformation or process improvement projects.
- Skilled in KPI reporting, budgeting, and cash flow planning.
