This is a build role - I'm looking for someone hands-on who can grow the client base, win business across Spot FX, Forwards, and Islamic derivatives (PRS), and cover the full spectrum of UAE corporate clients (mid-tier and large corporates).The ideal person will:Have Islamic banking treasury sales experience.Be hungry, commercially sharp, and quick to turn opportunities around.Be confident engaging directly with CFOs and Treasurers.Ideally have an Arabic language skillset, although this isn't a must.Bring existing UAE corporate relationships or a strong network that can be activated quickly.You'll work closely with a strong GM on the sales side, alongside a developing team.This is a confidential hire. Reporting into the Finance Director, key duties will include: Cash Flow Management - monitoring daily cash balances and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet operational and strategic business needs.Monthly bank account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate financial reporting.Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and upcoming financial obligations.Prepare foreign currency forecasts and ensure forward hedging contracts are maintained in line with company policies.Assist with the preparation and analysis of treasury reports, including cash position reports, liquidity analysis, and forecasts for senior management.Ensure treasury management systems are functioning properly, assist in system upgrades or implementations, and help maintain accurate records.Assist with the management of short-term investments and co-ordinate with external partners to ensure compliance with company policies.Identify and assess financial risks, especially related to currency, interest rates, and liquidity, and provide recommendations for mitigation strategies.Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (GAAP or IFRS), and treasury-related regulations.Provide support during external audits by preparing documentation and assisting with treasury-related inquiries.Work closely with other departments, including accounting, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment of cash management strategies with business goals.The successful candidate will be a formally qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent), although those who are QBE or part-qualified with demonstrable experience will also be considered. Tax & Treasury Specialist | Education Sector £40,000 to £45,000 Private School | Berkshire Butter Rose are proud to share that we are working with a prestigious preparatory school on the recruitment of an experienced Tax and Treasury Specialist. These kinds of roles don't come around often, with the feeling of making a difference to young people's lives being highly coveted. Your work will be centred around Tax & Treasury, but you'll also need a fundamental understanding of budgets / forecasts, management accounts, stat accounts, and transactional finance. Reporting to the Head of Finance and collaborating with the Director of Finance and Operations your primary duties will include but not be limited to: * Accurate production, and submission to HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), of monthly VAT Returns, reconciled to the General Ledger, within HMRC timeframe rules. * Ensuring that all VAT reclaimable from HMRC is received and reconciled. * Ensuring that any VAT due to be paid to HMRC is paid on a timely basis in accordance with HMRC rules, and correctly reconciled. * Submission of Voluntary Disclosures to HMRC, for errors above the threshold for adjustment within the VAT Return. * Ensuring Voluntary Disclosure reclaims are received or amounts payable to HMRC are paid on a timely basis. * Administering pro-forma invoices, ensuring valid VAT invoices are received, and duly included in the VAT Return. * Ensuring VAT/Tax knowledge of themselves and the Head of Finance and Director of Finance and Operations is current and up to date. * Assisting with VAT advice to the Director of Finance and Operations, where necessary through liaison with the school's appointed VAT Consultants. They're people-centric employer, and with this in mind we're open candidate who are on the road to qualification (AAT, ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA), or qualified by experience in the areas that matter.
