Butler Rose is supporting a well-established and growing organisation within the education sector to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join its finance team based in Okehampton. This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders, providing financial support, insight and guidance across multiple sites while helping to drive effective financial management and decision-making.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will play a key role in budgeting, financial reporting and business partnering activities, supporting operational leaders with financial planning and performance management.

Key responsibilities will include:

Supporting the preparation and management of budgetsMonitoring expenditure and analysing variances against budgetProviding financial advice and cost modelling to key stakeholdersAuthorising purchase orders, invoices and paymentsPreparing payroll-related returns, grant claims and financial reportsReconciling bank accounts and monitoring cash controlsSupporting year-end processes and audit requirementsAssisting with financial analysis of projects and activitiesProviding guidance and support to junior finance team members and apprenticesContributing to continuous improvement across finance processes and controls

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

Previous experience in a finance-focused roleStrong numerical and analytical skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyGood IT and systems skills, including proficiency with finance software and ExcelThe ability to manage workloads effectively and meet deadlinesStrong communication skills with the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levelsA proactive and organised approach to problem-solvingA full driving licence and access to transport

AAT Level 3 or 4 qualification (or studying towards) and previous experience within an education or school finance environment would be advantageous, but are not essential.

Butler Rose is partnering with a highly successful, international organisation with group revenues exceeding £1bn to recruit a commercially focused Finance Business Partner for its Milton Keynes operation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified finance professional who combines strong FP&A capability with the confidence to engage, influence and challenge stakeholders across the business.

Working closely with senior finance and operational stakeholders, you'll move beyond simply reporting the numbers, using financial insight to help shape decisions and improve business performance.

The role will include:

Partnering with commercial and operational teams to provide meaningful financial insightProfitability analysis and performance reporting across different areas of the businessSupporting budgeting, forecasting and wider FP&A activitiesDeveloping reporting and KPIs to improve commercial decision makingWorking capital and 13-week cash flow forecastingIdentifying trends, challenging performance and recommending actionsSupporting improvements to financial reporting, systems and processesWorking with UK, EMEA and Global finance teams

We're looking for an ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified professional with strong FP&A experience, advanced Excel skills and the ability to turn complex financial information into clear commercial insight. Just as importantly, you'll need the confidence and credibility to build relationships and influence stakeholders outside of finance.

Package - £70,000 + bonus, 23 days' holiday, pension, private medical contribution, life assurance and additional benefits.
