Butler Rose is delighted to be recruiting for a Product Engineer on behalf of a well-established and highly successful manufacturing organisation based in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to join a forward-thinking business, supporting the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes within a technically advanced production environment.

The Role

Reporting to the Product Engineering Team Leader, you will play a key role in developing, implementing and maintaining best practice across product engineering activities. You will work closely with production, quality and customer-facing teams to ensure products are manufactured efficiently, meet customer requirements and achieve the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain robust manufacturing processes and engineering standards.Provide technical support to production teams to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products.Manage engineering projects and product-related programmes from concept through to implementation.Utilise CAD, CNC and 3D modelling tools to support manufacturing activities.Apply Six Sigma and Lean methodologies to identify and resolve manufacturing issues.Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing scrap, rework and process variation.Analyse manufacturing data and prepare qualification, scrap and rework reports.Implement process controls and dimensional improvements to enhance product quality.Identify opportunities to reduce costs through process optimisation and waste reduction.Present technical information and project updates to a range of stakeholders.Promote and maintain a safe working environment in line with company standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

A Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience using CAD software and/or tooling design principles.Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and MRP systems.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Strong organisational and project management capabilities.A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.Confidence presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Desirable Experience

Injection moulding, ceramics processing or related manufacturing technologies.Experience supporting complex production environments and process development activities.

This is a pivotal appointment for an experienced operational leader who enjoys driving change, creating structure and improving performance within a growing manufacturing environment. In the role, you will take overall responsibility for operations and play a key role in shaping the next stage of the company's development.

The organisation produces engineered products for a diverse customer base and is looking for someone capable of bringing stability, accountability and operational excellence across the business.

This role would suit an individual with a background in engineering, technical manufacturing, industrial manufacturing, precision manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, defence, automotive or other complex manufacturing sectors.

The Role

As Operations Director, you will lead the operational functions of the business, ensuring that products are delivered safely, efficiently and on time whilst driving ongoing improvements in performance, cost and customer satisfaction.

You will inherit a capable team and be tasked with strengthening processes, improving operational visibility and developing an environment where teams are empowered, accountable and focused on results.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys solving problems, implementing structure and leading transformation rather than simply maintaining the status quo.

Previous experience as an Operations Director, Head of Operations, Manufacturing Director, Site Director, General Manager or Operational Excellence Leader would be highly relevant.

The Opportunity

Working closely with the Finance and Commercial Manager and wider finance team, you will be responsible for overseeing customer accounts, ensuring outstanding balances are collected efficiently and supporting the delivery of accurate financial information to key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities will include:

Managing customer accounts and proactively collecting outstanding debts in line with agreed payment terms. About You
