Butler Rose is exclusively recruiting a commercially minded Head of Finance to lead a growing finance function while supporting the company's continued growth. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will oversee all aspects of financial control and play a key role in strategic initiatives including business expansion and long-term financial planning.

The Role
As Head of Finance, you will lead the day-to-day finance function, ensuring robust financial controls, accurate reporting and regulatory compliance across the business. You will manage a small finance team while working closely with the senior management team and other stakeholders, both externally and internally.
Key responsibilities will include:
Preparation of monthly management accountsLeading the month-end close processPreparation of annual statutory accountsAdvising on technical accounting mattersManaging tax complianceActing as the key contact for auditors, banks and external stakeholdersOwnership and development of finance systemsLeading, mentoring and developing a finance teamDriving improvements in financial controls, reporting and operational processesSupporting strategic decision making through accurate financial reportingBusiness partnering with non-financial departmentsFinancial modelling & forecastingAbout You
We are looking for a commercially minded and ambitious finance professional with strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to influence decision-making across the wider business.
The successful candidate will be professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with previous experience of working within a senior finance management role.

Interim Head of Finance - Exeter
Butler Rose is seeking a commercially minded Interim Head of Finance for a period of approximately 3 months for a client in Exeter, whilst they recruit on a permanent basis.
Reporting into the Executive Team, you will lead financial strategy, planning and performance, providing the insight and challenge needed to support business decisions, sustainable growth and new market opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting and scenario planning.Provide commercial insight to support growth, investment and business performance.Own cash flow forecasting, working capital and financial controls.Partner with the Commercial team on pricing, contract review and profitability.Deliver management accounts, Board reporting and financial analysis.Ensure compliance across statutory reporting, tax, payroll and audit requirements.Lead and develop the finance team while driving continuous improvement.About You
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).Strong experience in FP&A, forecasting, cash management and financial reporting.Commercial finance experience covering pricing, margins, business cases and decision support.Proven people leadership and stakeholder management skills.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced SME, scale-up or growth environment.Commercially astute, pragmatic and able to make sound decisions with incomplete information.This is a unique opportunity to influence the strategic direction of a purpose-led, growing business as part of a collaborative and ambitious leadership team.
