Butler Rose, public practice is delighted to be supporting our client, a well-established firm based in Bridgnorth. They have a great opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior or recently promoted to Audit Assistant Manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients across a range of industries, while supervising junior team members and contributing to the firm's continued success.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion for a portfolio of clients in accordance with UK auditing standards (ISA (UK)).Prepare and review audit planning documents, risk assessments, and audit strategy memos.Supervise and review the work of audit juniors and semi-seniors, ensuring compliance with firm methodology and professional standards.Perform technical reviews of financial statements prepared under FRS 102, FRS 105, and IFRS where applicable.Liaise with clients and audit managers throughout the audit process to ensure effective communication and timely completion.Identify and communicate audit findings and recommendations for process improvement.Act as the primary point of contact for clients during audit engagements, maintaining strong working relationships.Manage client expectations and ensure excellent service delivery.Assist in resolving technical accounting and auditing queries.Coach, mentor, and support junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and development.


Key Requirements:

ACA / ACCA qualified (or finalist) with a strong academic background.Minimum 3-5 years of audit experience in a UK public practice environment.Strong working knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102 / 105) and ISA (UK) auditing standards.Experience with audit software such as CaseWare, CCH, or Mercia Audit.Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines under pressure.Proven leadership and supervisory experience.Proficiency in Excel and cloud-based accounting systems.Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and detail-oriented individual to support a Director in managing a portfolio of clients receiving outsourced finance services. You'll gain hands-on experience across bookkeeping, management accounts, and VAT, while developing strong client relationships and progressing your accounting career in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Director with a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients, ensuring all deliverables are met accurately and on time.Assist in the preparation of management accounts, VAT returns, and payroll.Maintain and reconcile financial records using cloud accounting systems (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).Contribute to the preparation of year-end working papers and statutory accounts.Liaise directly with clients, providing excellent service and support.Support junior team members where needed and assist with ad hoc financial projects.

Key Requirements:

AAT Level 4 qualified (or near completion) or equivalent.Desirably some experience or interest of businesses within the agricultural/rural or sustainability sector, but not essential.Previous experience working in professional services or an accountancy practice with a clients portfolio desirableProficient with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, or QuickBooksExcellent Excel and Google Suite skills.Strong academic background (minimum B grade or equivalent in Maths and English).Organised, proactive, and eager to grow in a client-facing accounting role.

Role Responsibilities -

Take ownership of your own portfolio and personal tax clients

Manage client matters and client queries on your own portfolio efficiently and effectively.

Person Responsibilities -
