THE ROLE

The Payroll Senior / Payroll Administrator will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services for a portfolio of clients, ensuring payrolls are processed in line with current legislation, deadlines and client requirements.

Working as part of an established payroll team, you will manage end-to-end payroll processing while maintaining strong relationships with clients, HMRC, colleagues and third-party providers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

You will be responsible for:

Processing end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients across varying pay cyclesManaging auto-enrolment duties and BACS paymentsEnsuring payrolls are completed accurately, efficiently and within deadlinesEstablishing and maintaining strong working relationships with clientsHandling payroll-related queries and providing a high standard of client serviceCarrying out manual payroll calculations where requiredKeeping up to date with payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and industry changesLiaising with HMRC, pension providers and other third-party organisationsWorking collaboratively with the wider payroll team and supporting shared service standardsProactively resolving payroll and client service issuesSupporting continuous improvement across payroll processes and service deliveryUndertaking any additional duties appropriate to the role


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should ideally demonstrate:

Previous payroll experience, ideally gained within an accountancy practice, bureau or payroll services environmentStrong understanding of payroll legislation, statutory payments and auto-enrolment regulationsExperience processing multiple client payrollsAbility to manually calculate payrollGood working knowledge of payroll softwareExperience using BrightPay would be highly advantageousStrong Microsoft Office skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organisational and time management abilityA proactive, positive and client-focused approachAbility to work both independently and as part of a team

You'll work closely alongside the Payroll Manager, playing a pivotal role in ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time for varied pay intervals weekly/monthly etc. This role would therefore suit someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working in a fast moving environment, delivering excellent service within the payroll department.

There is also potential for this role to become full-time for candidates who also have bookkeeping experience and would be interested in supporting the bookkeeping team.

The Role

As Payroll Administrator, you will support the smooth delivery of all payroll services across multiple intervals working as part of team. Your responsibilities will include:
