Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a well-established and friendly accountancy practice in the recruitment of a Private Client Tax Assistant.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ATT qualified, ATT studier or qualified by experience tax professional looking to develop their career within personal tax. Working closely with an experienced Tax Senior, you will gain exposure to a broad range of personal tax matters while becoming a valued member of a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with the preparation of Self-Assessment tax returns for individuals, directors and business ownersSupporting the Personal Tax Senior with a range of personal tax compliance and advisory workLiaising with clients and HMRC to resolve tax queries and obtain informationAssisting with tax planning projects where appropriateEnsuring work is completed accurately and in line with HMRC deadlinesBuilding strong client relationships through excellent service and communication


Key Requirements

ATT qualified, ATT studying, or qualified by experiencePrevious experience working within personal tax in a UK accountancy practiceGood understanding of Self-Assessment tax complianceStrong organisational skills with excellent attention to detailConfident communicator with a proactive and client-focused approachEager to learn and develop within personal tax

An established and growing accountancy practice is seeking a Tax Assistant to join its team and work closely with an experienced Tax Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with personal tax experience who is looking to develop their career within practice. The role will involve preparing personal tax returns, supporting clients with their tax affairs, assisting with HMRC communications and contributing to more complex tax and trust work.

Role Responsibilities

Gather, organise and review information received from clients.Prepare and file personal tax returns accurately and within relevant deadlines.Assist with HMRC communications and correspondence.Ensure client tax deadlines and compliance requirements are met.Support the Tax Manager with larger and more complex tax projects.Assist clients with the Making Tax Digital (MTD) process.Provide support with trust-related tax work.Maintain accurate and organised client records.Liaise with clients to obtain outstanding information and documentation.

Personal Requirements

At least 1 year of experience working on personal tax returns, ideally 2+ years.Previous experience within an accountancy practice is preferred.ATT qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work.Good communication skills with the confidence to deal directly with clients.Able to manage deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.A willingness to develop technical tax knowledge and progress within the role.The firm is open to supporting ATT studies for the right candidate.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Audit Senior looking to take greater ownership of assignments, build trusted client relationships and continue progressing towards an ACA or ACCA qualification.

You will manage audits from planning through to completion, gain broad practical experience and support the development of junior colleagues within a supportive and professional practice. The role offers excellent exposure to the full audit lifecycle, alongside opportunities to develop your technical knowledge, client management and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion, including risk assessment, fieldwork, testing and analytical reviewPrepare accurate audit files, working papers and completion documentation in line with the firms methodology and UK auditing standardsReview financial statements and supporting documentation, assisting with statutory accounts preparation where requiredIdentify audit issues, control weaknesses and areas for improvement, escalating significant matters to the Audit ManagerAct as a key client contact, managing information requests, resolving queries and keeping clients updated throughout assignmentsManage multiple assignments, monitoring progress against agreed deadlines and budgetsPrepare professional client correspondence and support the efficient onboarding of new clientsSupervise and support apprentices and junior colleagues, allocating work, reviewing files and providing constructive feedbackShare knowledge with the wider team and contribute to in-house training and a positive learning cultureMaintain up-to-date technical knowledge and contribute ideas to improve audit quality, efficiency and the overall client experienceCollaborate with colleagues across the practice and support ad hoc accounts, assurance and client projects where required


Key Requirements

Minimum 3+ years experience within an accountancy practice, including practical audit exposureCurrently working towards an ACA or ACCA qualification or newly qualifiedKnowledge of Caseware (highly beneficial)Confident problem-solver with good professional judgementStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationshipsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workProactive, positive and collaborative approachStrong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines

Key Responsibilities

Manager client portfolio of 200 personal tax clients as well as handling portfolio of corporate tax clients on a project basis.Oversee the personal tax compliance process, including drafting and reviewing Self-Assessment tax returns.Provide tailored personal tax planning advice on areas such as income structuring, capital gains, inheritance tax, and residency matters.Oversee corporate tax compliance and advisory necessary for projects.Work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments to deliver joined-up, comprehensive client solutions.Develop and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and key point of contact.Guide and mentor junior team members, ensuring high standards of quality, accuracy, and professional growth.


Requirements
