Our exclusive client and art deco jewel on the Devon coast, is looking to shape the next chapter of their story, by growing their people team. We are looking for a people assistant to join them in an exceptional place to work, as well as stay. This role doesn't include home working - and why would you want it to!
We're seeking a People Assistant who is resilient, proactive, and personable. Working closely with the HR Manager and Department Heads, this is a rare opportunity to contribute to both the employee journey and the legacy of one of the UK's most iconic destinations.
What you'll be doing:First-line HR support - Be a trusted go-to for employees and managers, providing clear guidance on policies and procedures.Recruitment & onboarding - Ensure a seamless candidate journey, from interview to induction.HR administration - Manage contracts, compliance checks, personnel files, rotas, and timekeeping with accuracy and efficiency.Employee relations - Support investigations, grievances, and disciplinaries with professionalism and discretion.Learning & development - Help coordinate inductions, training sessions, and progression planning.Staff accommodation - Oversee logistics, including arrivals, departures, and maintenance needs for onboarding new staff.Systems & data - Maintain accurate HR systems, analyse people metrics, and support data-led decision-making.Payroll & compliance - Prepare and submit payroll data in collaboration with our external provider.HR projects - Contribute ideas and deliver initiatives that enhance the employee experience.What we're looking for:Solid HR administration experience (Hospitality / Retail / Manufacturing sector desirable).Confident with Excel and HR systems, including data analysis and process improvement.A people-first approach: approachable, empathetic, and passionate about culture.A self-starter who demonstrates initiative, discretion, and resilience.Why join?Competitive salary, gratuities paid monthly, and generous perks.Discounted food & drink, plus high-quality staff meals provided on shift.And the chance to live and work somewhere truly extraordinary.Full-Time, 40 hours per week however part time maybe considered or flexible hours.
