Senior Associate - Business Insolvency

Butler Rose are pleased to be recruiting for an established Corporate Insolvency firm based in Manchester for a Senior Insolvency Associate. This is a key position which involves managing complex corporate insolvency matters, with the opportunity to work closely with partners, build client relationships, and progress towards leadership.
Duties:
Manage a portfolio of corporate insolvency cases, including: Creditors' Voluntary Liquidations (CVLs), Administrations, Compulsory Liquidations, Company Voluntary Arrangements (CVAs),Oversee case progression and ensure compliance with insolvency regulations and statutory requirements.Prepare reports, statutory documentation, and creditor correspondence.Manage communications with stakeholders including creditors, directors, solicitors, agents and the Insolvency Service.Liaise with accountants, solicitors and other professionals to assess viability, restructure, or wind-down options.Maintain accurate time recording, billing and case budgets.Ensure all work complies with internal risk controls, SIPs, and regulatory obligations (IPA, ICAEW, SRA, FCA etc.).

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced insolvency professional to take on a senior regulatory role within a leading professional standards organisation.
In this role, you'll manage a varied portfolio of insolvency regulatory casework, overseeing licensing applications, monitoring activities, and regulatory reporting. You'll lead a small team, ensuring regulatory processes run smoothly while maintaining the highest standards of professional conduct. Beyond the operational aspects, you'll also play an active role in shaping insolvency regulatory policy, representing the organisation at key industry forums, contributing to consultations, and engaging with government and oversight bodies.
This is a senior position that requires significant insolvency expertise, ideally supported by JIEB or equivalent qualifications. You'll have a strong grasp of UK insolvency legislation, excellent analytical skills, and confidence dealing with complex regulatory matters. First-class written and verbal communication skills are essential, as is the ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders across the profession.

Butler Rose are pleased to be working with a brilliant firm of insolvency specialists, who are looking to add an Assistant Manager to their team - ideally this person will have strong experience within corporate insolvency, with some experience in managing/supervising a team (the firm are also open to someone who has been ready to step into management and has strong insolvency experience at Senior Administrator level and above).
Benefits:
- Hybrid working of 1 day per week. Also open to discussing other flexible options
- 25 days holiday (plus bank hols)

Summary of duties:
- Manage a caseload of corporate insolvency cases including CVL, MVL etc.
- Liaise with creditors, debtors, and other stakeholders in a professional manner
- Prepare necessary documentation and statutory reports
- Contribute to business development and networking initiatives
- Support more junior members of the team, reviewing work, training
Ideal Candidate:
- Strong experience in corporate insolvency
- Ideally management experience (desirable, not essential)
- Solid understanding of insolvency legislation and processes
- Able to communicate clearly and professionally to clients and colleagues
