Butler Rose are excited to be working with a leading manufacturer to recruit a Planner Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious individual to take ownership of both planning and procurement, ensuring customer demand is met with efficiency, precision, and quality.
The Role
As Planner Buyer, you'll be responsible for organising production schedules in line with customer requirements while managing the full procurement cycle to ensure materials and components are available on time. You'll work cross-functionally with Production, Customer Services, and Senior Management to drive efficiency, maintain strong supplier relationships, and deliver on schedule adherence and service excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage material scheduling to ensure on-time delivery of finished goods and components.Confirm orders within production capacity and monitor workflow through all manufacturing areas.Control inventory from raw materials through to finished product.Identify and mitigate risks across the supply chain.Process purchase requisitions and maintain proactive communication with suppliers.Track shipments, manage transport logistics, and expedite orders where required.Ensure compliance of purchased materials with internal specifications.Represent the Planning team during audits.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimise efficiency and customer service.About You
We are looking for a highly organised and commercially minded individual who can balance production planning with procurement demands in a fast-paced environment.
Key skills and experience include:
Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.Strong Excel skills and analytical ability.Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma desirable).Ability to build strong relationships with both internal teams and external suppliers.Self-starter with excellent organisational and project planning skills.A collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset.What's on Offer

Bonus points if you have:
Experience with Sage 200
CIPS qualification or working towards one
Higher education in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
