Butler Rose Public Practice is pleased to be partnering with our client in the search for an experienced Accounts Manager. The firm, currently made up of 30 staff members, is in a phase of growth and is seeking a strong leader to oversee the accounting function. This is a key role, responsible for accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance, and managing a dynamic team. You'll play a crucial part in financial operations and contribute to strategic business planning.
Role Requirements:Lead and manage the accounts team, including both senior and junior staff, ensuring all accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time.Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), tax laws, and internal control policies.Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.Develop and maintain robust financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.Monitor cash flow and working capital, liaising with banks and financial institutions as required.Support business goals through budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.Deliver financial insights and reports to senior management to inform strategic decisions.Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and accuracy.Provide mentorship and training to team members, supporting their professional development.Person Requirements:ACCA, ACA, CA qualified, or qualified by experience.5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting, including team leadership.Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, and compliance requirements.Skilled in using accounting software and proficient in advanced Excel functions.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.Highly organised, analytical, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.If you're ready to step into a more forward-thinking role within a supportive and well-established firm, operating from modern and fully serviced offices, we encourage you to apply for this immediately available opportunity.

Responsible for managing a team of 6 staff at various stages of development.Managing a diverse portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.Overseeing bookkeeping, VAT returns, management accounts and year end accounts preparation.Review of VAT returns prior to client approval.Review of accounts and ensuring review points are cleared prior to partner review.Review of corporation tax returns.Key point of contact for clients and dealing with general queries.Assisting team members with technical queries and professional development.Development of client base and taking part in networking.Responsibility for work allocation and job completion, ensuring deadlines are met.Preparation of monthly fees projections.Ensuring invoices are raised for work done.Use of cloud accounting software and the ability to advise both clients and staff.Personal Requirements
