The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the charity's financial operations. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can ensure financial compliance, provide insightful analysis, and support the charity's long-term financial sustainability.

Responsibilities will include:

Lead and manage the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and compliance with charity and statutory regulations.Prepare timely and accurate management accounts, financial reports, budgets, and forecasts to support strategic decision-making.Oversee payroll processes and ensure all statutory and regulatory obligations are met.Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.Develop and implement effective financial strategies, including procurement planning and cost management.Provide financial insight and reporting to support funding applications and grant compliance.Line manage and develop a small finance team.Work closely with the senior leadership team to align financial planning with organisational objectives.

The successful candidate is likely to be a qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent), a clear communicator with a background in management accounting, payroll, and audit preparation

Role Responsibilities

End to end payroll processing: collect hours, calculate pay, deductions (PAYE, NI, pensions) and initiate BACS transfers.Maintain and reconcile payroll records, ensuring accuracy and statutory compliance.Support payroll software: data entry, system updates, reporting (payslips, P60/P45/P11D).Respond to payroll queries from employees, HMRC and other stakeholders.Undertake regular payroll audits and proactively resolve discrepancies.

Personal Requirements

Proactive, detail-oriented, and confident working independently

Strong Excel and accounting software skills (Sage, Xero, or similar)
