On behalf of our client, Butler Rose are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll & Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and growing company at their head office in the Blackpool area

What You'll Be Doing:
This is a hands-on and varied finance role where you'll be responsible for:
Running weekly payroll (approx. 70 employees) and monthly payroll using Sage 50 Payroll
Managing PAYE, pensions, RTI submissions, SSP, P11Ds, and HMRC processes
Processing purchase ledger and sales ledger transactions using Sage 200
Handling project accounting, bank reconciliations, cashbook posting, and BACS payments
Assisting with month-end processes: accruals, prepayments, VAT returns, and balance sheet reconciliations
Providing general support to the finance team on ad hoc tasks
What We're Looking For:
Solid experience using Sage 50 Payroll and Sage 200 Accounts
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently
Good working knowledge of Excel and Word (intermediate level)
A confident communicator and reliable team player

Salary: to c £29,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm (30 min lunch)
Holidays: 23 days + 8 bank holidays

Role Requirements -
Managing a diverse portfolio of clients (Ltd Co., sole-traders and partnerships) and building strong working relationships.
Preparing and reviewing financial statements under FRS102-1A and FRS105, and associated corporation tax returns
Managing the day-to-day activities of the accounting team to include review work
Providing advice and guidance to clients on accounting and tax matters
Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and legislation
Managing client accounts and ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial records
Developing and implementing new accounting policies and procedures as required
Proficient in the use of accounting software to include IRIS, Xero, Quickbooks and Sage.
Person Requirements -
ACA/ACCA full qualification with ideally 2 years' PQE
Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within a UK based accounting firm
Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
