Job description

A leading global manufacturer has a great opportunity for a Financial Controller in their Southampton location. We are looking for a capable and credible candidate, who has a background within the manufacturing sector and is able to closely support the business in Southampton with travel to Ashford as the business determines.

This role will be responsible for the financial management, controls and reporting of the Manufacturing Operation to include:

• Financial reporting of and insight into the product cost to manufacture and overheads to ensure the best factory decisions and improvements are made based on accurate and insightful information.
• To build highly effective relationships with key cross functional personnel.
• Help to drive and embed a continuous improvement culture across both the finance and operations teams. Improving systems, processes and reporting where necessary.
• Responsible for the preparation and analysis of monthly accounts, cash flow projections, standard costs, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and year end accounts.
• Responsible for managing the local financial costing process.
• Work with site teams to investigate adverse operational variances and develop countermeasures.
• To be responsible for agreement of monthly production numbers
• To provide on-site financial control to all aspects of the operation, providing day to day support and advice to staff and management on existing and future manufacturing internal control practices.
• Maintain compliance with internal control procedures and practices
• To be responsible for monitoring, reporting and compliance of inventories, fixed assets and capital investment projects
• To review the drivers of the business to help provide strategic direction.
• To drive cost saving initiatives and provide financial advice in the development of manufacturing methods
• To aid management in the development of new products
• Business Modelling - what if scenarios
• To interface with the broader finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting of results in line with requirements for consolidation into the overall business results process.

Candidates should have experience of financial processes in a manufacturing operation and be a Qualified Accountant This role would suit someone who has excellent inter personal and communication skills who is confident, professional and career focused. You should be a self starter with a drive for influencing change.
