Butler Rose is supporting a market-leading business with a significant UK presence and global reach in the search for a UK Tax Specialist to join its Central Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of key direct tax responsibilities whilst working closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, HR, Payroll and international tax teams.
Duties will include:
Prepare and manage UK Corporation Tax returns and quarterly tax calculationsDeliver current and deferred tax accounting and reporting requirementsSupport transfer pricing compliance and documentation activitiesManage employment tax compliance including P11Ds, PSA returns and company car reportingLiaise with HMRC, auditors and external advisersMonitor tax legislation and support tax governance, controls and risk management initiativesContribute to wider VAT, customs and international tax projects
Candidate Specification:
Experience within UK direct tax compliance and reportingStrong knowledge of Corporation Tax and employment taxesExposure to tax accounting and transfer pricing activitiesQualified CTA/ATT/ACCA/ACA or equivalentStrong analytical and stakeholder management skills

Key Responsibilities
Manage VAT compliance activities across multiple entities.Provide advice and guidance on VAT matters, including partial exemption and reverse charge arrangements.Review transactions to ensure correct VAT treatment and compliance.Prepare and reconcile VAT control accounts and support VAT reporting requirements.Support budgeting, forecasting and tax planning activities.Assist with corporation tax compliance and returns.Provide support across employment taxes and international tax matters.Contribute to year-end audits and preparation of tax provisions.Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors when required.Support contractor employment status assessments.Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and reporting.Deliver tax-related guidance and training to colleagues across the wider business.

PQ or Newly Qualified CTA/ACCA/ACA/ATTStrong VAT knowledgeExcellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters clearly.A proactive and commercially aware approach.Strong Excel and analytical skills.
