Office-based in Yeovil
We're working with a fast-growing business in Yeovil who are looking for a Finance Assistant to join their team on an 8-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time, office-based role with a salary of up to £33,000.
About the role
As Finance Assistant, you'll play a key part in supporting the finance function during a busy period of growth. Using Sage 50, you'll be responsible for keeping financial records accurate, supporting with contract reporting and helping the Head of Finance with day-to-day tasks.
The role covers a broad mix of responsibilities including credit control, stock management, reporting and general accounts support.
What you'll be doing
Month-end reporting (predominantly Balance sheet and P&L)
Preparing regular reports on contracts, costs and profitability
Supporting credit control and chasing overdue payments
Helping manage stock and ensuring accurate reporting
Assisting with general accounts and year-end tasks
To be considered, you will have
Strong experience using Sage
Experience in a similar level role
Good attention to detail with strong reporting skills
Confident communicator who can work with different teams across the business
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines
What's on offerSalary up to £35,000
Early Friday finish
8-month full-time contract

Company Accountant - Temporary to Permanent - South Somerset
Our client is experiencing rapid growth, delivering specialist solutions to clients worldwide. They're looking for a detail-driven and proactive accountant to help them maintain strong financial control during this exciting expansion phase.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Finance (and deputising in their absence), you will take the lead in setting up, managing, and reporting all company contract data in Sage 50. You'll work closely with sales and operations to ensure that pricing, costs, and margins are accurate and that projects meet planned profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up, maintain, and report all company contract data in Sage 50.
* Manage and update company price lists, adjusting for foreign currency exchange rates.
* Verify large sales proposals for inspection.
* Work with sales and operations teams to ensure contract terms are correct and costs are controlled.
* Issue customer monthly statements and chase overdue accounts.
* Manage and report stock levels in Sage 50, ensuring accuracy with the balance sheet.
* Attend and contribute to weekly contract review meetings.
* Assist with year-end accounts alongside the Head of Finance.
Measures of Success
* Accurate, on-time weekly financial and contract reports.
* Sage 50 accurately reflects Gross Profit and Work-in-Progress for all contracts.
* Effective credit control with minimal overdue accounts.
* Stock values align with the balance sheet.
* Head of Finance feels well supported in all financial operations.
Skills & Experience Required
* Strong Sage 50 experience is essential.
* Proven experience in contract and cost control accounting.
* Solid understanding of credit control and stock management.
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills to work across finance, sales, and operations teams.
