Senior Accountant
Location: North Yorkshire
Salary: £35,000 - £50,000+ (Dependent on Experience)

Butler Rose Practice North is delighted to be assisting a well-established and growing accountancy practice with the recruitment of a Senior Accountant to join their team in Cross Hills.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional seeking a varied role with genuine career progression opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, delivering high-quality accounting and tax services, and supporting the development of junior team members. For the right individual, there is a clear pathway towards a future Manager-level position.

Key Responsibilities
Preparing accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships, LLPs, and Limited Companies.
Preparing accounts from both incomplete records and computerised accounting systems.
Preparing Company and Personal Tax Returns.
Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as their primary point of contact.
Reviewing work completed by other members of the team.
Liaising directly with clients on a wide range of accounting and tax matters.
Assisting with management accounts production where required.
Supporting a variety of ad hoc projects and assignments.
Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Candidate Requirements
ACA or ACCA qualified preferred, although qualified by experience candidates will be considered.
A minimum of three years recent experience within a UK accountancy practice is essential.
Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
Good working knowledge of accounting software, ideally including CCH, Sage, and Xero.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
