An established and growing independent accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Audit Senior to join its expanding audit team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional to take ownership of a varied client portfolio, working closely with managers and directors to deliver high-quality external audit assignments. The role offers an 80/20 split between audit and accounts work, exposure to a broad range of clients, and full study support for those still working towards their ACA or ACCA qualification, including paid study leave and funding for first-time exam attempts.

Role Responsibilities

Plan and deliver external audit assignments for a diverse portfolio of clients.Assist managers and directors with audit planning and completion.Complete audit fieldwork both on-site at client premises and remotely where appropriate.Prepare accounts work as part of an 80% audit / 20% accounts workload.Attend client meetings and build strong professional relationships.Apply and develop technical knowledge gained through professional studies and practical experience.Attend internal technical training sessions to maintain and enhance technical expertise.Review work completed by junior team members and provide constructive feedback.Support the training and development of junior members of the audit team.Ensure assignments are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.

Personal Requirements

Previous experience working within an accountancy practice in an audit-focused role.Studying towards or qualified ACA or ACCA (qualified candidates are also encouraged to apply).Strong technical audit knowledge and attention to detail.Confident communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels.Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.Keen to continue developing professionally and expand technical knowledge.Willing to travel to client premises as required.
