An established accountancy practice with a strong presence across Lincolnshire is seeking an experienced accountant to join its Bourne office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can confidently manage a set of accounts from start to finish, take responsibility for client relationships and handle a varied workload across accounts, tax, bookkeeping and VAT.

Role Responsibilities

Preparing a portfolio of accounts from initial bookkeeping through to completion and finalisation following review.Preparing and assisting with the completion of tax returns, where required.Managing bookkeeping and VAT work for a portfolio of clients.Dealing directly with clients, answering queries and providing day-to-day accounting support.Supporting clients with cloud-based accounting software and helping them make effective use of their systems.Liaising closely with the Partner responsible for the Bourne office and its client portfolio.Taking responsibility for your own workload and ensuring accounts and other client work are completed accurately and efficiently.Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider practice and other offices where appropriate.Contributing to the development of the Bourne office as the team grows, with scope to support and develop more junior members of staff in the future.

Personal Requirements

Previous experience within an accountancy practice is essential.Strong accounts preparation experience, with the ability to take accounts through from start to finish.Comfortable dealing directly with clients and handling client queries.Experience of bookkeeping and VAT would be advantageous.Tax return experience would be beneficial but is not essential.A good working knowledge of accounting software and an interest in cloud-based systems.Able to work independently and take ownership of a varied workload.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.A proactive and client-focused approach.
