In this role, you will lead the finance function and play a key role in delivering organisational strategy through robust financial management, insightful reporting and strong financial governance. This is a highly visible leadership position, offering the chance to influence decision-making at the highest level while driving continuous improvement across finance operations.

As Director of Finance, you will be responsible for leading financial accounting, management accounting and procurement activities, ensuring the University has accurate, timely and meaningful financial information to support strategic and operational decision-making.

You will oversee budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting, treasury and cash-flow management, tax compliance and external audit processes, whilst continually enhancing systems, controls and ways of working.

Key responsibilities include:

About You

We are seeking a qualified finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with proven leadership capability and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex organisation. Experience of working within the public sector, particularly Higher Education is desirable.

You will demonstrate:

Full CCAB accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).Significant experience in a senior finance leadership role.Strong background in financial accounting, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.Excellent understanding of financial governance, controls and statutory reporting requirements.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.The confidence and credibility to influence senior leaders and stakeholders.Experience driving process improvement and organisational change.Strong communication and presentation skills.A proactive, collaborative and solutions-focused approach.

Lead and manage the corporate tax function, ensuring high-quality advisory and compliance servicesOversee a portfolio of corporate clients, including owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and larger corporate groupsProvide strategic tax planning advice, including corporate structuring, R&D incentives, capital allowances, international tax, and M&A due diligence.Act as the primary liaison with HMRC for senior client matters, risk management, and complex queriesMentor senior and junior tax team members, promoting professional development and technical excellenceSupport business development initiatives, identifying opportunities to expand advisory services and attract new clientsManage budgeting, billing, and WIP for the corporate tax department, ensuring efficiency and profitabilityStay current with tax legislation and professional developments, providing thought leadership internally and externally


REQUIREMENTS

ACA/ACCA/ CTA qualified10+ years' corporate tax experience in professional practice or corporate advisory, with at least 5 years in a leadership roleExperience managing a large and complex client portfolio independentlyExpertise in advisory projects, including international tax, share valuations, restructuring, and M&AProven leadership skills, with experience mentoring senior and junior staffExcellent communication skills for client engagement, team leadership, and stakeholder managementStrong analytical, strategic, and business development acumen


SALARY & BENEFITS

Base Salary: £65,000 - £90,000 per year (depending on experience).Total compensation includes performance-based incentives, benefits, and referral bonuses.Generous holiday allowance, flexible benefits, pension contributions, and other perks

Are you a hands-on operational leader with a track record of driving high-performing teams and delivering results in fast-paced manufacturing environments? We're looking for a dynamic Operations Director to lead and elevate our clients Production and Supply Chain. This is working for a fast growing business on a growth trajectory, so it is a really exciting time to join the business and really make an impact.

What You'll Do:

Lead and inspire all operations, including Production, Mixing, Planning, Purchasing, Goods In, and Stock Control.Drive efficiency, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the business.Ensure production meets output, quality, and safety standards every day.Maintain accurate inventory control and manage ageing or obsolete stock proactively.Monitor and report on operational KPIs, ensuring continuous performance improvements.Collaborate across teams to deliver On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) results and operational excellence.Plan and manage resources effectively to meet business demand and support growth.Oversee procurement and supply of materials, packaging, and operational consumables.Champion compliance with Health & Safety, regulatory, and operational standards.Build, mentor, and lead high-performing operational teams, shaping the culture of excellence.

What We're Looking For:

Proven senior leadership experience in FMCG, manufacturing, or production environments.Strong experience managing large, fast-paced operational teams.Expertise across manufacturing operations, planning, inventory management, and purchasing.Commercially aware with the ability to analyse performance and implement improvements.Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused mindset.Ability to thrive and make an impact in a rapidly evolving business environment.
