Role Responsibilities
Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.Assistance with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.Collaboration with internal teams including bookkeeping and payroll.Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal control processes.Work from incomplete records, resolving discrepancies and reconciling accounts.Prepare and reconcile balance sheets.Maintain ledgers and post journals as needed.Personal Requirements

Summary of duties:

Ideal Candidate:
- Strong experience in corporate insolvency

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and monitor the HRA (£29m) and Housing General Fund (£8m) budgets.
Lead on revenue and capital budget preparation, forecasting, and closure of accounts.
Produce monthly monitoring reports and present financial insights to senior leadership.
Undertake rent and leaseholder service charge modelling in line with legislation.
Ensure accurate submission of government returns and compliance with accounting standards.
Supervise and develop a team of 4 FTE finance staff.
Contribute to service improvement and transformation initiatives.
Act as a financial 'critical friend' to service managers, providing advice and challenge.
Ideal Candidate:
CCAB-qualified accountant
Significant experience in public sector finance, ideally within housing or local government.
